OurStory

SumX started with a simple question:

Why are project-based businesses still stuck with complex, outdated, and overpriced ERP systems?

After leading more than 500 ERP implementations across government contracting, architecture, engineering, construction, and consulting industries, we saw the same challenges repeat over and over again: ERP systems were clunky, overly complex, painfully expensive, and slow to implement.

Legacy platforms were draining resources instead of enabling growth. Small and mid-sized businesses were paying $400 per employee per year (or more), locked into 3-5 year contracts, and spending anywhere from $10K to $100K on implementations, only to be left with outdated interfaces, inefficient workflows, and systems that required costly consultants just to keep running.

We weren’t just seeing these challenges in the market, our own customers were struggling, and we were struggling to serve them effectively within these constraints. Meanwhile, other industries were benefiting from sleek, AI-driven, modern ERP systems, but GovCon and project-driven businesses were left behind.

That’s why we built SumX.

SumX is a modern ERP system built to eliminate the gaps left by legacy software. It was designed to cut through the three biggest pain points:

1. Hefty and Unsustainable Costs – Legacy ERPs were too expensive, with steep license fees, long-term contracts, and costly implementations. SumX offers transparent pricing starting at $30/employee/month, no long-term commitments, and implementation fees as low as $1,000.

2. Time-Consuming Implementations – Traditional systems could take 3–6 months to deploy. SumX is deployable in as little as one month.

3. Poor User Experience – Old ERPs were clunky and hard to use, requiring constant workarounds and outside consultants. SumX is a clean, intuitive, modern interface that simplifies project accounting, vendor payments, payroll, and compliance.

Our mission is simple: make ERP fast, affordable, and intuitive—without sacrificing compliance or functionality.
